I've been on the other side as an intern reading and writing coverage for a production company and though there were a few bad ones most of the scripts they sent me were average. A few had possibilities but they were in need of work. The way I looked at each script was, would I like to see this in a movie theater on the big screen. It's strange that I could be so critical of other's work that it made me think twice about my own work. Still, there are a lot of so-so movies being made that I could see where there is a need for a movie that would wow the masses and the critics. I'm not surprised that a lot of scripts get passed over but it is encouraging for you that they showed interest. Best of luck for the new year. :-)

Totally agree and thanks. As i just posted on my page a quote from Sinclair LEWIS: " It's impossible to discourage the real writers - they don't give a dam what you say, they're going to write." Love everything you said above. Been there, still there, but it's a new year with new possibilities and opportunities. Lets keep writing and bearing our souls in our stories is a common advice I hear a lot. Good luck fellow writers of Stage 32.

Harley. I'll make an assumption that there is a single protagonist or perhaps a lead and a couple of major supporting characters. If it's an ensemble story, my comments would be different but I could not tell that from the trailer for sure. I'd like trailer to let me know whose story it is. With whom will I spend two hours or so? One character, a woman, appears once in the trailer, states she's there to kill whoever killed her family. Another character, a man, who appears earlier, is also after whoever killed his family. If there are multiple victims from multiple families murdered by one or more killers, I'd like to see that bad guy(s) featured more clearly so I get the general idea behind the story. I did find the the trailer somewhat confusing. I also thought it could be shorter, a minute and a half or so. (I admit that I do not have extensive experience creating trailers but I have been involved with several films and with the trailers.) My suggestion. Approach a trailer as you would approach a log line. Who is the lead? What's his /her big problem? What stands in the way of solving that problem. You can include 'money shots' if you have them to build interest. And if a name actor is involved who will potentially making selling the film easier, then he/she should be in trailer. You might consider voice over in the trailer to help clarify the story. Just my thoughts. I hope they're helpful.

Watched this twice. Some of the acting like the guy with the envelope, "I will do this job, but you don't own me," seemed like it was a very melodramatic style. The woman in the car had the ornament hanging from the mirror casting a major shadow across her face @ a time that seemed like it was a major emotional and plot point; but that's cinematography. There were some nice spots in the trailer. I guess I agree with you, "nice spots, not loving it." Keep up the good work!
