SYNOPSIS:

Most humor in the US is now sarcastic and mean. Divorce is common, as are child custody disputes. People divided by [red/blue state, 1%/99% of wealth, urban/rural, etc.] can barely speak or listen to each other. Why is there all of this latent hate in our culture, and why has it increased noticeably in the last few decades?
