Manolis Damianakis: Director, editor and producer.

I’m Manolis Damianakis Award Winning film director. Here is a short of my statement against organized crime and criminals.

I was born in Greece. Since I was little kid I’m a photographer. My first picture almost at 6 years that I was shot are my grandma and grandfather. Later this hobby become a profession. Million of pictures and happy moments with beautiful people and childrens , landscapes and travels and many more. Video cameras , editing and postproduction also always involved with my work , theatres ,dance schools , competitions , advertising for companies e.t.c

The idea to be Film Director matured day by day then I realized cinema is a way to develop my vision of what I want to expressing through. Always an unexploring journey of fillings and emotions. The magic of Cinema.

2009 I’m finished my first short film Nice Trip also my first documentary as a Film Director and Producer. Next I went to Athens to New York College. And study Cinema and TV in general. Unfortunately a divorce with my x wife change my path for a short time because I started everything from the beginning. But with a great experience of my work and many connections around the Greece and the world. In 2012 in Creta and in Greece I finished my very first feature film Kame Koummando as a Film Director Producer Scriptwriter and Editor. Award winning for this feat. I did it without money and everything handled by me. If I’m good? Yes I’m. If I’m talented yes I am but I don’t like big words. Unfortunately this film became the reason that my hole life changed to a nightmare. Amazing of reactions of where I screened my film in Greece and Europe. Criminals targeted my life and my career. Tortures, blackmails , attempts to murder me several times and many horrible facts. I didn’t give up I survived because I have good friends,me and the God. Since then I’m fighting to take back my ordinary life and save also my career. Day by day I’m not alone in this now I have some good friends. I know out there are also other people in a similar situation of me , worst or not doesn’t matter I’m looking also for them. But I think as a victim and witness of what they did to me and what I saw I think I’m the first one.

Staying in your values and choose to collaborate with serious people or collaborate with shit and criminals. It’s up to you people. No one will tell you what exists in dark world of cinema. I started with passion of what I did and I’m gonna finished in this way . It’s my life it’s my career . My freedom is your future a better future for everyone a better future for the children’s and our work.

Director Statement

I knew from the beginning that I wrote a script which involved an Art film thus noncommercial. With audience that would see the film with a different eye to the Festival, in Greece or outside. The passage in the script, the Direction , the subsequent production of all the accelerated procedures up to the final in projections was my plan how the film could have and commercial character, as a young creator needs in addition to all others audience and re-financing. First of all the protagonists are known and famous generally have a wide range of participation in various productions , enough people as extras as new talents ... and others have other experiences from other film productions television and Theatre. All actors, the script, the technique, the frame, cinematography , the color, the music, editing, all the creative stages etc. were objective, they synthesized the above movie.

As my film "Kame Koummando" reached at the International Festival outset watched with what films linked this festival in what did Promotion and Screening and what fate may have in my own course. I went to the cinema and I saw all the new productions that had begun to circulate, to my great joy I saw that my film has inspired many artists , the pace, the frame generally as film. Films which had large Budget and connected with the festival which I had sent my film . I connected all the information I had from my own views, and other, comments in the world after the screenings, impressions from the press kit, Festival etc and what we had planned to do a commercial Art film worked with exceptional way. I didn’t made a masterpiece but I did a great job. All of my collaborators. I can forget until the end of my life.

400 hundred euro my profits until now and a life in a circus. Das was.

Advertising and Promotion of general.

Press conference in Heraklion where he was broadcast on local TV channels Tv Crete and Creta Channel.Local radio stations Skai Crete, ERA FM, Globe. All these broadcasters are large audience and audience with a wide range of common age. Press conference in Thessaloniki Municipal Television, Radio stations, and the Greek Television ET1.Poster, Printed Media Newspapers and magazines.

Premiere.

The film premiered in Crete in Heraklion summer 2012. Technopolis http://www.texnopolis.net .The number of spectators who attended these two days were 2150 people. The film followed the course of the International Festival as I had chosen that alternative distribution in Greek and foreign cinema Theatres .In overview the film was screened in 28 cities all over the Greece in cinemas and cinema clubs also in Crete island and was a big success.

Note. In all the Greek and foreign Festival I was present supporting my movie.

International Film Festival of Thessaloniki was chosen from among 140 films from around the world. Mine is in of 14 of them

In Cyprus International was selected among from 1000 from around the world.

The film was sent to around 55 international festivals worldwide. The festival are:

I’m proud not only because I’m alive and supporting my work but because of the collaboration of serious professionals in cinema industry in Crete as I screened my film.
