What if I told you that there was a secret agency who was the reason for mess-up in the story of Little Red Riding Hood and there was a war in cosmos that forced space dynasties to land on earth in the castle of Sleeping Beauty?
SYNOPSIS:
"Reviewed by Lori M for Readers Favorite
"Stories Not for Children" takes three well-known fairy tales and twists and skews them into adult conspiracy theories and tales. The underlying stories of 'Little Red Riding Hood', 'Sleeping Beauty', and 'The Three Brothers and the Golden Apple' are barely recognizable once author Godrak is done with them. Cleverly, with great wit and intense imagination, the author spins tales like you’ve never imagined, stories that are definitely NOT for children.
In 'Little Red Riding Hood', for example, the author paints a humorous visual when he indicates that she had to go to visit her grandma, her father’s mother, who didn’t live with the family because, “the mother-in-law's condition was getting worse and worse and no therapy could make it better.” Hilarious take on an old classic family dynamic. He also tells us that 'The Three Little Pigs' were filthy rich as a result of racketeering and plundering. Sarcastic sacrilege!
In the tale of 'Sleeping Beauty', Godrak explores how on earth someone could have possibly slept for 100 years. He posits that since the dawn of time some people with scientific minds see things better than others and contemplate things as opposed to picking their noses or developing their muscles. He somehow ties together 'Sleeping Beauty', 'the Pillars of Earth', 'Blue Beard', and what is to be later known as 'the Tunguska Meteorite'. He has some imagination! His last twisted story involves magicians and the naughty things they do that can wreak havoc on us.
Clever, interesting, and very different, these not-for-children stories are definitely a fun read."
