A group of female athletes rise against ridicule and impossible odds to establish the first ever women's professional American Football League.

SYNOPSIS:

In the veins of "A League of Their Own", "Friday Night Lights" and other sports-themed shows, the inaugural season of Blitz will revolve around some of the impossible challenges faced by these female athletes that will set a provocative and yet inspirational tone throughout the entire series, spliced with hard hitting girl-on-girl action.

Blitz is a one-hour fictional sports drama, loosely based on actual events which led to the formation of the Women's Professional Football League (WPFL), the original and longest running women's professional American football league since the late 90s. There had been others who had followed in the WPFL's footsteps including the Independent Women's Football League (IWFL) and the Women's Football Alliance (WFA).
