ALL THE WRONG MOVES
By Carol Hoffman

GENRE: Animation, Comedy
LOGLINE:

A young wrestler finds life becoming increasingly complicated when he lies about himself in order to date a wealthy young woman with a Ph.D.

SYNOPSIS:

BEN ‘Strong Arm’ ARMSTRONG, 20s, a young wrestler, stumbles across The Book Of Secrets with valuable dating advice on his way to celebrate his career advancement with his manager, JULIO GARCIA, 20s. They meet wealthy KENZIE RUSSELL, 20s, an aspiring singer-songwriter with a PhD in Mathematics, and ALICIA LANG, 20s, a beach glass jewelry artist, at a club. Ben lies about his job and impresses Kenzie until his clumsy dance moves cause her to leave in a hurry with the wrestling jacket he made caught in her truck door.

Ben locks his keys in his car when he arrives at Kenzie's house to pick up his jacket and pretends his blue collar parents are his aunt and sick uncle when they bring a spare key. Kenzie’s sick black cat escapes as Ben tries to get rid of his parents. He accidentally stomps on the cat’s paw but keeps quiet because Kenzie thinks he saved her cat. She gives him a second chance and gets songwriting inspiration from him.

Ben's performance suffers. Every time he’s ready to confess, she gives him an out or he does something embarrassing. Julio has problems connecting with Alicia. They search the book for answers until Alicia finds it in Ben’s car and gets suspicious. Kenzie doesn’t believe Ben is away on business and wants to join him while he’s wrestling out of town, forcing him to go home and confess. Kenzie breaks up with him, but she can't finish her song and still loves him. The feeling is mutual. She surprises him by attending his big wrestling match and joining him in the ring after he wins.
