SYNOPSIS:

"Righteous Among Men", is a docudrama based on the true-life story of Gino Bartali.

A hard working, hard headed, devout Catholic, Gino was an Italian cycling champion from the 1930's thru the 1950's. A hero to thousands, he risked his own life by acting as a courier smuggling messages for the Italian resistance during WW2. Gino also delivered forged documents to Italian Jews giving them Italian names and identifying them as members of the Catholic Church in order to protect them. Gino is acknowledged with saving over 800 Jewish families from certain death in Hitler’s concentration camps. He has also been credited with having a hand in preventing an Italian civil war in 1948. Although Bartali faced many dangerous obstacles, he was sustained by a strong belief that he was on a mission from God.

With the body of an athlete and the heart of a Saint, Gino, alongside the love of his life, proved that just one man can change the world.
