With a background in dance, physical theatre and puppetry (Terrapin Puppet Theatre 1992-1995) Ruth trained as an actor (BA Nepean UWS), devised and performed with ricochet (1999-2003) and after a Bachelor Teaching (UWS) taught Drama in various Sydney schools. In 2013 Ruth performed her own unscripted solo (& puppet) work in Impro ACT’s Showcase Sorry I Love You, won Best Actress in Canberra’s ‘Short & Sweet’ one-woman puppetry play Vanity Insanity. Street Theatre productions: The Very Sad Fish Lady, Homefront, Imperson8 and in her own puppetry creative development: In My Head. Ruth is a director and tutor with Canberra Youth Theatre and performs and tutors regularly with Impro ACT
Ruth has an ACT Working With Vulnerable People card, Senior First Aid Certificate, is a MEAA Equity member and an insured sole trader with ABN.
