In 1972, two teens from different sides of the track facing major life changes find each other and the answers they seek with the fight to put on what became the most disastrous "Pop" festival in Rock history as the backdrop.
SYNOPSIS:
A coming of age story mixed with a fictionalized version of the real 1972 battle to put on the "Erie Canal 'Soda' Pop Festival" in Southern Indiana. We follow the stories of Chance, a 17-year-old with dreams of being a rock star. His bosses Tom and Bob, the 20-something concert promoters whose plans for a Midwestern Woodstock ran afoul of the local authorities and snowballed from there. And finally, Lydia, a straight-A student whose plans to escape her small town when she graduates are almost derailed by her over-protective father. Music suggested in script includes acts that were booked (and/or said to be booked) for the show like Bob Seger, the (post-Morrison) Doors, Black Sabbath, the Faces, Joe Cocker, Black Oak Arkansas, the Eagles, Amboy Dukes and Foghat; as well as hits by the Chi-lites, Osmonds and others.
