Behind the scenes of TV’s first Life Coach — her addictions, bad dates and inspirational recovery from childhood trauma. A STAGE 32 Comedy Writing Semi-Finalist.
SYNOPSIS:
Hanala, a child raising herself in 1960s Montreal, notes how her Holocaust-surviving parents, Manya and Felix, listen to and respect people on TV, so -- she decides to become one of them. At 21, she moves to L.A. to get into showbiz, but gets into drugs and bad relationships. After discovering the hot producer she's dating is married with a baby, and she doesn't get the role he promised her, she's homeless in Hollywood.
She wins rent money on TV game shows. She's yelled at by a soap director for being drunk on set, Suicide Prevention hangs up on her and she, literally, hits her bottom falling into a Christmas tree at a Beverly Hills A.A. event.
Struck sober in 1983, she launches Shape Up, L.A! on Public Access TV, becoming the least anonymous alcoholic in America. A successful aerobics phenom and celebrity life coach (known as Suzan Stadner), she becomes the first vlogger, producing 200 episodes on cable and satellite, and appearing in 1980s movies and infomercials. After 400 million views on YouTube, a few marriages and divorces, she walks the Red Carpet at her Manhattan movie premiere. Hanala has figured it out -- respect and satisfaction was an inside job all along.

Hi Hanala. Thanks for contacting me. To be honest, I misinterpreted the premise and seeing your script it is very well written. I love it :) As you will see I have adjusted my initial score. Loglines are extremely hard to write and can always be improved. Best of success to you.
