UNTITLED SUPERNATURAL LOVE STORY (supernatural true story drama)
"Sixth Sense" meets "Shine" meets "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir"
An aging, lonely woman gets a last chance at love and companionship when she mysteriously inherits an old piano and suddenly finds herself beckoned by the spirit of a famous dead composer to help him finish a final, passionate composition he never completed.
(multi-award winner)
SYNOPSIS:
A black screen is suddenly replaced by short, aging fingers on the piano which stop abruptly midpiece for no obvious reason, followed by a moment of dead, comtemplative, almost eery silence. As the camera pans back slowly we see … a middleaged greying woman in a plain housewife dress sitting at the piano, rapidly breathing.
She surely can’t be the player – but she is. After a moment she turns, and behind her a panel of a half dozen men in fine suits sit staring at her in confused awe. A cameraman points a TV camera in her direction. The words “TV STUDIO, 1960” flash onscreen briefly after which she addresses the men quietly, modestly.
“Gentlemen, your questions?” One man introduces himself as a famous music critic. He can’t help but ask... “I’m sure my fellow critics, musicians and fellow Tv and mucic executives will all share my … amazement. An expert on Liszt myself, I must admit I find it hard to dispute similarities to his work, particularly the latter years of his life. But I’m curious, why didn’t you finish the piece?”
She looks at them matter-of-factly. “Because it’s not finished yet. But he assures me one day it will.” Then a famous pianist introduces himself. Still sceptical he questions … “I understand your parents had a music hall?” She quickly retorts “Yes, but I was not allowed to participate, and I never played an instrument. There was no money for lessons.” Another critic follows... “We understand you had visions from an early age? When was the first time?” After a reflective moment she obliges, graciously.
She takes a deep breath and shakes her head in amusement. A fond memory. “Well … the very first time I was 7 years old. It was Christmas night and I had just got this toy piano… and a young man named Mozart played me a familiar song..."
