by Jennifer Bouani and Jacqueline Schumann.
Series Logline: 1-hour Limited TV Series Drama (TV-MA): In a not-too-distant future where rampant regulation and cronyism have stifled business leaders' ability to produce, the greatest minds in the nation go on strike, but one woman works tirelessly to save her faltering autonomous trucking company and fight the man who is luring the strikers.
Pilot Logline: After a deadly crash in which her truck manufacturing company is at fault, COO Dagny Taggart sends shockwaves by pivoting to fully autonomous, nuclear-powered big rigs, pitting her against her crony CEO brother and his like-minded allies who want to control the energy market. A mysterious man from Dagny’s past resurfaces, threatening to thwart Dagny’s plans.
SYNOPSIS:
The Strike is a contemporary reimagining of Ayn Rand’s controversial and best-selling novel, Atlas Shrugged. This unique and very accessible adaptation is a complete reimagining of the novel, one of such epic proportions that it will eclipse all other adaptation attempts (such that they were) in reaching a mass audience. Taking place mostly in San Francisco / Silicon Valley with modern tech and diverse characters, The Strike takes the story to a new level of accessibility and humanity: think Showtime's Billions on a collision course with Orwell’s 1984.
