DELIVERY BOYS

DELIVERY BOYS
By Keith Soforic

GENRE: Drama
LOGLINE:

The downward spiral of a young delivery boy, when a repressed childhood trauma creeps back into his life.

SYNOPSIS:

A young man stands at the edge of a cliff -- looking down into the dark abyss, below. He was running from something, but can do so no longer. His body is stripped of its clothing, and shivers in the cold winter air. Tears stream down his face as he retraces the events that led him to this moment....

SAMMY JENKINS should have graduated college long ago, but lacks direction. Instead, he's locked into a life dictated by others' expectations, and delivering pizzas to pay for a Degree that he may never acquire.

Placed on Academic Probation for the third and final time, Sammy has until the end of the semester to shape-up or face expulsion. After a conversation with his boss, he considers dropping out and starting over. Just then, images of a repressed childhood trauma begin to creep back into his life, complicating it even further.

With the help of his best friend, CHEY, Sammy tries to figure out his next move. Together, they discuss the choices that they've made, the dreams have, and the ones never ventured.

Meanwhile, Sammy continues to struggle not only with school, but with his job as well. He is harassed and disrespected by the very customers he serves. He lacks the "right approach", but doesn't seem to care.

Unable to take a Leap of Faith and start over -- and unwilling to continue this false existence, he heads down a self-destructive path of confrontation and risk-taking. Little by little his frustration begins to manifest itself, and the stakes get higher. Eventually, things get out of control and someone gets hurt. In despair, Sammy drives to Dobey Cliff and stands on its edge.

All is not lost, though, and there is still time for redemption. He can stop running and take responsibility for his actions. First, though he will have to confront his past.

It will take the help of a close friend to get him through it. If he succeeds, he will finally realize that "dreams weren't meant to be dreamt -- they're meant to be lived".
