An unwilling Prince (he refuses to be responsible for anything) must assemble a ragtag band of wannabe heroes (they might be a lost cause) to find an ancient spell book possessed by a fire-breathing dragon (she’s the good guy), to stop an evil Wizard (he has no idea what’s happening) and save the Princess (she’s evil) and the Kingdom.
SYNOPSIS:
Once upon a time a beautiful Princess was kidnapped by a dangerous Dragon. A brave Prince road to her rescue and slayed the Dragon and rescued the Princess, but before they could return to the kingdom, they encountered a powerful Witch. The Witch demands a toll to let them pass and the Princess agrees to give up her love for the Prince, assuring him that it must be done for the good of the kingdom.
Three years later, the Prince drowns himself at the pub and avoids responsibility. His best friend, the honorable Knight, tries his best to keep the Prince’s spirits up. The dying King summons the Prince and tasks him with a new quest. The Prince refuses, but the King insists it’s his dying wish, to ensure the kingdom is safe so he may die in peace. He tells the Prince of an Evil Wizard in a dark forest. He tells the Prince that he must find an ancient spell book whose magic will be able to defeat the Wizard. The Prince reluctantly agrees to take on the quest. He gathers the Knight and they’re joined by the Knight’s love, the Whore, who wants to go on a grand adventure to escape the tedium of her everyday life. They are joined by the cowardly Assassin and the clumsy Thief. Both broke into the castle to commit their own crimes, put on armor to disguise themselves as knights and were caught by the Guard Captain. To protect their cover, they join the quest as junior knights. The Prince leads the quest to the home of the Hero of Balad, who initially refuses to join the quest. The Hero and the Prince argue, and the Hero relents when he learns the King is dying.
The newly formed quest take the low road up into the mountains where the Dragon lives. The Prince searches the Dragon’s cave and finds the wounded Dragon. The Dragon transforms back into the Witch, who tells the Prince that the book he seeks is long gone. The Prince decides to bring the Witch on the quest to make up for the loss of the book. They make it to the Fairy Kingdom and convince the Fairy to show them the way to the Wizard’s Keep. They spend the night and the Prince and the Witch start to develop an attraction. The next day the quest heads out, crossing the swamp, a dangerous bridge and the dark caves. They arrive at the Wizard’s Keep and find their way in, where they run into the Wizard. The Wizard has no idea why they are there, but his Maid does. She attacks the quest and runs, only to be cornered the courtyard. She manages to take down the Knight and the Prince and the Witch transforms into the Dragon to protect them. Unfortunately, her transformation triggers the Wizard’s trap. The Maid escapes but the Wizard helps the quest free the Dragon. As they question the Wizard, they realize that someone in the castle was paying him to destroy the villages. Meanwhile, back at the castle, the Princess, fed up with waiting for the King to die, murders him.
The Princess is crowned Queen as the quest returns. The Prince is distraught to learn the King has died and the quest quickly comes to suspect something is very wrong. As the Princess digs her claws into the Prince, the rest of the quest finds the King’s body and realizes he was murdered. The Witch is arrested and the quest fractured. The Prince makes his choice between the Witch and the Princess as the quest learns the Princess was the one paying the Wizard. The Prince confronts the Princess and she puts him under an obedience spell using the spell book, leading him to attack the quest. The Witch manages to break the spell and the quest reunites and attacks the Princess. The quest battles the Princess and the Witch transforms into the Dragon to defeat her. Realizing the end is near, the Princess tackles the Prince off the wall of the castle, killing them both and dropping the book into a fire that destroys it. But wait! The Knight manages to catch the Prince as he falls. In the final scenes the quest gets their happy endings and at the very end, we see the book unburn.
