A disillusioned cryptozoology student discovers a previously unknown predator that is ravaging a small Bigfoot tourist town in rural Colorado.

SYNOPSIS:

Splendor, Colorado is world famous for its elusive Bigfoot sightings and hosts a summer Bigfoot festival where enthusiasts of the happy, hairy biped gather to celebrate. Just beyond the quaint village, a local construction team installing barriers along the north mountain drills deep into the earth, unexpectedly hitting something below that howls in agony and incurs a substantial collapse of the floor beneath them revealing a labyrinth of ancient caverns. Rachel Travis, the apprentice of an eccentric yet renowned cryptozoologist at the University of Chicago takes up the task of investigating. Expecting the venture, like so many before, will be a waste of time, Rachel crosses the river beneath an archway featuring a smiling, waving Bigfoot that welcomes her. Examining the carcass from the creature revealed in the collapse, Rachel slowly reveals a species that has no record in history books. Thrilled by the discovery, she is joined by her Professor and a small team of anthropologists who hijack her effort and confiscate her research. Just as she prepares to leave, a suddenly string of grisly deaths strike both locals and tourists leaving a bloody trail that leads her to suspect that there is another creature lurking in the darkness and it isn't just killing, it is seeking revenge.
