About Nancy

I am in the process of reinventing myself - although I was an engineer for years, I have always been a creative at heart. My current project is a Sci-Fi novel with aspirations backed up by talent, hard work, and perseverance and a dream to go from page to screen. I am very excited about the possibilities, and I love the crossover between writing novels and screenplays - my current favorite book on the writing craft is The Anatomy of Story by John Truby. I am published in my area of engineering expertise, but I am truly excited about my entrance into the world of fiction writing.

When I have my engineering hat on, I am seeking effective and efficient solutions to problems. But I have found that entertainment is an effective and efficient solution as well – to the problems brought about through our humanity. For some it might be immersing themselves in a good book that takes them far away from their present problems, at least for a little while. For others it might be taking two hours to watch a movie that transports them to another place, allowing them to relax and recharge after a stressful day. It may not fix the problems, but it helps them to be easier to endure while we work through them. I am thankful for entertainers in all forms of media for their part in helping with that.

It’s all about the stories we share…told and retold with fresh viewpoints for each generation while treasuring the old. Stories are precious gifts that are reinvented in captivating ways to celebrate what it means to be human: exploring every aspect of life in ways that are meaningful to the audience. I am grateful that I get to be a part of that.

Update: I completed the Sci-Fi novel mentioned in the first paragraph of my bio (Alien Neighbors) and also the first book of a fantasy trilogy (Sword of Fate). Check out my website or find my books on Amazon to learn more.
