Nuclear scientist Tom, his brave, spunky 12-year-old daughter Stephanie, and NASA mission commander Theresa join forces during a First Contact. Tom finds himself risking his career, custody of his daughter, and possibly his life, to save his new alien friend while attempting to prevent the annihilation of Earth.

SYNOPSIS:

The search for energy leads NASA to travel back to the moon. Mission team members unexpectedly experience a “first contact” with an alien race similar to humans. The aliens’ planet is in danger due to an impending supernova, and they seek the U.S. government’s help in a massive relocation effort to another planet, in exchange for technology that will solve earth’s energy problems and also provide interstellar travel capability. Different factions on both planets have competing agendas and not everyone is in favor of the joint effort that the United States and alien government are moving forward. The ultimate survival of the aliens and preventing the annihilation of Earth by a rogue alien faction are at stake.

My goal is for the novel to entertain by providing a story that the reader can immerse themselves in. Because one of my main characters is an alien with a great sense of humor and love for cultural references named Lanjo (he is a research scientist that has specialized in extensive studies of Earth culture, both in the broad sense and with a specialization in American culture and history) the novel has serious goals and technological pursuits peppered with humorous references and relationship growth as the main characters interact. I plan on completing the story as a novel first, then adapting it as a screenplay. UPDATE: Alien Neighbors the novel is published and recommended reading by Kirkus Reviews.
