SYNOPSIS:
WeScreenplay gave Final Dawn a Recommendation. The reader called it: Truly engaging, gripping and entertaining. It's War of the Worlds meets Invasion of the Body Snatchers, with amazing dialogue and surprisingly funny moments that make you fall in love with the characters.
In Final Dawn, we follow Elias Wolfe, an overprotective father whose world is shattered when an alien invasion claims the life of his wife, leaving him alone to protect his two children, 17-year-old Zack and his young daughter Linzie. Elias's overbearing nature stems from the tragic loss of Zack's twin brother 13 years prior, a devastating event that he feels responsible for, leading him to withdraw emotionally and quit his job as a professional paramedic.
As the invasion unfolds, Elias finds himself thrust into a harrowing journey across the country with Zack and Linzie in tow, determined to reach a designated safe zone. However, their path is fraught with danger, and Elias is forced to confront his deepest fears as he struggles to keep his family safe in the face of overwhelming odds. On the journey he is joined by a neighbour Bill with his daughter Tiffany and a wounded marine, Corporal Alice Clement.
Despite his best efforts, tragedy strikes once again when both Zack and Linzie are taken by the alien invaders, who will be revealed to have a sinister reason for taking people as apposed to just killing them. Elias is left badly wounded and desperate for help. But when the military proves unwilling to assist him, Elias is left with no choice but to embark on a perilous mission, aided by the resourceful Alice, into enemy territory to rescue his children.
Final Dawn is a heart-pounding tale of survival and sacrifice, exploring the lengths a father will go to protect his family in the face of unimaginable adversity. As Elias confronts the demons of his past and battles against insurmountable odds, he must grapple with the weight of his own guilt and learn to forgive himself in order to save those he loves, while also learning when to let go and trust those around him to take care of themselves.
In a race against time and against the unknown forces threatening humanity, Elias's journey becomes not only a fight for survival but also a journey of redemption and self-discovery. Will he find the strength to confront his past and overcome the challenges ahead, or will he succumb to the darkness that threatens to consume him? Final Dawn is a gripping sci-fi thriller that will keep audiences on the edge of their seats until the very end.

It can be assumed he is trying to keep his children safe. What is special about how he navigates? What is he navigating?
Hi, Norman Welthagen. I agree with Rose Scott about the navigation. Also, I suggest adding the inciting incident at the start or end of your logline.

Maurice Vaughan Thanks Maurice. I've updated it to hint at the alien's true intentions. Pity Rose deleted her comment though. Would have welcomed her feedback.
You're welcome, Norman Welthagen. I like the first part of your logline. I think "as the extraterrestrials' dark intentions put their very humanity at risk" is vague. You don't wanna be vague/hint at things in a logline. It might make a producer/etc. pass on the project. It happened to me before.
