Enigma follows the story of a man named Derek who has announced to a panel of scientists that he, in fact, knows everything, but that he only has 13 months to live. Nominated for Best Screenplay at the 2013 Epidemic Film Festival (San Francisco).
SYNOPSIS:
Derek has severed all ties to his girlfriend, friends and family as he debates what and how he's going to reveal to a group of questioners (scientists) in the way of his special knowledge of everything. In the interim, he attempts to save the life of a woman he meets in a diner by telling her to take a cab instead of a bus the following day.
The photo below is a still from a short film by Derek Eaker who asked me for permission to use the script as the basis for his film school project (it later went on to be nominated for Best Screenplay at the 2013 Epidemic Film Festival in San Francisco). A link to the film appears in my bio. The director changed the name of the main character to Sky to avoid any confusion, being that they both bore the same name.
Script attached. Feel free to comment on the work.

Thanks, Johnathan!
I thought this was an awesome short film. I was able to easily get pulled into the storyline and you created some great imagery with your writing. The questioners seemed a little less believable and sterile, I would’ve liked to have seen Derek talking with ordinary people like Jennie. If he only has 13 months and knows so much, it’d be nice if we could see him changing lives with your 21-page introduction, lol. Nice work!

Chantel, thanks so much for your feedback. Truth be told, I did anticipate at one point or another turning this into a much more in-depth script, playing with the ideas that I added to the beginning and ending regarding how Derek gained this power and how he passed it on again. You rock!
