ORCKLAHOMA

ORCKLAHOMA
By John Devilman

GENRE: Western, Fantasy
LOGLINE: In a fantastical Old West, a bright eyed young Orc leaves his family and sets out for adventure in wild and wooly Orcklahoma City. Before he knows how it happened, he’s the sheriff, pinned between the rustlers and the roughnecks.   The series would be the character failing upward at crisis management in a corrupt city full of cantankerous villains... somehow managing to avert disaster by blind luck or clever design.

SYNOPSIS:

Father and the boys; large, thickly muscled orc hillbillies, are doing chores around the farm. Mother calls them from their chores to gather ‘round and hear news of their kin, her other son, Orcson Wells, who ran away from home, seeking adventure.

In a letter she just received, Orcson recollects the events of his arrival to Orcklahoma City. He paints everything with rose-colored glasses, completely unaware of his misperception of grave events. While he sees the good of the city, he turns away right before the darkness rears its ugly head.

Following a flier that promises action, adventure, and employment, Orcson saddles up to the Sheriff’s station. He meets a man who’s voluntarily locked himself up and a Sheriff that is in a hurry to leave town. The reason makes itself clear as a gang of ruffians enter, demanding payment from the Sheriff, who gives the star to Orcson and tells the gang they’ll be dealing with him from now on, (before leaving out of a window).

Through an innocent discourse, Orcson exposes the unfair treatment certain members of the gang get. Disgruntled, the gang turn on their leader. Not wanting to be the target of their ire, he makes to attack Orcson but is interrupted by the voluntary prisoner presenting himself as a renowned gunslinger, feared across the continent.

They leave, swearing that this isn’t over and Orcson assures his Mother that everything is going great.

Worry wrinkles the brows of all who are listening and Mother announces, “My baby’s going to die!”
