By Michael Rwamunahe

GENRE: Comedy, Family
LOGLINE:

A man reminisces about his childhood and the small town Christmas variety show he helped work on with his mom and future stepfather on Christmas Eve 1986.

SYNOPSIS:

In the Christmas of 1986, Joey Walcott, and his mom, Emily arrive in the small town of Bronxville, New York, along with Emily's new boyfriend, James. James and Emily want to try living together before taking the next step. Joey has trouble adjusting to a new school, new environment, and most of all, a new father-figure in his life (his real dad ran out on the family.) Things change when James (working at the local community theater) proposes to do a Christmas variety show (instead of the standard Christmas pageant about the birth of Christ.) With the help of his partner, Fred, James sets out to sign several local talented acts, including a has-been singer, and Emily herself (also a talented singer.) Joey finds himself helping with the show, along with the friends (and even enemies) he has made so far in school (where his mom is one of his teachers.) over the course of several days, Joey will learn several lessons, especially concerning a introverted boy he befriends, and a mysterious neighbor. It will all add up to a Christmas Eve he will never forget.
