Mr. Nice Guy – 1st year Law associate, Riddick Minor, pursues a possible Firm partnership pending the outcome of high profile Murder case. As he sits in court staring at photos of the victims he realizes that he knows all of them-- as women his brother is currently dating.

Mr. Nice Guy is a gritty and intense Chicago noir style murder mystery, set in the otherwise low-key collegiate atmosphere of Downtown Austin TX. This is the story of Legal Aid on the rise, RIDDICK MINER fresh out of Law School and working an entry level position at LANLIN & ASSOCIATES. Riddick is the consummate ‘Nice Guy - who always finishes last.’ His younger brother, MAZIN MINER on the other hand is an unreasonably handsome jock has no such hang ups. The brothers share a moderate apartment near the campus of the University of Texas. Riddick’s bad luck with women takes a turn when he meets the captivating, ANGELA BELL and with the bar exam behind him and a new love interest in his life, things are certainly looking up.

After the untimely death of Riddick’s mentor, GEOFFREY LANLIN, he is immediately promoted to a partner at the firm as part of the old man’s last will and testament to the bitter distain of Geoffrey’s step-son, CHARLES. When a rash of rape-homicides threatens the security of female students in the Austin’s 6th street bar/nightclub district, the town is swept up into a web of fear and suspicion. The local police force, led by SHERIFF JONAH BLAKE and his DEPUTY, ALLEN GLENSBY, starts an in depth investigation centered on local pubs.

Riddick’s new position and relationship begin to drive a wedge between the siblings and he starts to have strange nightmares starring a creepy ghost child. Back at the law firm, Charles devises a plan to make things difficult for his newest colleague but before he can, there is a major break in the ‘6th Street killings’ when homeless drifter, TODD SHAW, is apprehended. Even more shocking the vagrant claims that Riddick is his lawyer. As the death toll rises, Riddick agrees to defend the strange man in what promises to be the highest profile case of his life-- but his encounters with Todd are almost a battle of their own.

As the trial begins testing his litigation skill while his client tests his patience. To make things more disturbing, Riddick begins to recognize the victims. The stress of the trial ignites his temper and threatens his love life. The trial is turned on its side when the latest victim is found unconscious, but still Alive! As it becomes clear to him that Todd is innocent, Riddick realizes who the guilty party is. He confronts Mazin who all but admits to the crimes but refuses to be taken in.

Riddick returns to his childhood home as detectives draw closer to the truth. There he discovers that Mazin is not responsible for the murders-- he can’t be because?
