My name is Nell Komlos and I am a screenwriter/songwriter/playwright looking for collaboration. I've written some plays and short films and I am looking to get into TV/Web Series. I'm currently based in NYC, but I'm doing the gypsy thing; also, I don't mind working remotely. My work tends to fall somewhere in the dark comedy/drama/fantasy realm. Hello everyone. My name is Ariana, I currently reside in the surrounding area of Atlanta, Ga. My current job title is a freelance videographer but I want to be more than that. I recently graduated with a B.F.A in mass media and are in the stages of getting my M.A. in Film and Television. I would like to pursue my career path as a director or screenwriter.

I've seen a lot of advice telling me to write what I know. How do people approach the parts of stories that they don't know?

I understand that if I'm writing a period drama or a space opera that to create those worlds I'd need to do some research and use my imagination. My question is more specifically about making authentic, relatable characters.

Am I at a disadvantage being an only child with no kids when I want to write a family drama? I don't see myself as a misogynist so how could I ever write a James Bond script? If I want to write about a serial killer do I need to, you know, kill?

I'd love to hear how others approach writing outside their comfort zone. Do you pace around the room and act it out? Do you get into a meditative state and visualise the scene? I like to think that the ideas spring into my mind like magic but sometimes I worry I'm not digging deep enough.

Hello everyone!

I am Melina, originally from Greece but currently living in Quebec city, Canada, where I am doing my PhD in Neurobiology!

I have lived in three different countries and loved all of them for different reasons and I speak almost three languages (French is not perfect yet). I start writing movie scripts about a year ago while I start putting words together to fight stress and anxiety and to my biggest surprise these words, somehow, formed a script (really bad formatted one). Since then I have attended a couple of online courses and read some books about how to write and form a script and now I am working on my first comedy feature screenplay!

I am here to network with fellow writers and exchange feedback on our work.

I am Olivia, a 22 year old about to graduate college. I am currently working on a portfolio so I can pursue a career in screenwriting, primarily in television but also film. I have had several internships in television production and experience working on a short film.

I am currently in the process of rewriting a feature film script, a dark comedy/drama about an abrasive young woman who attempts to mend her fractured relationship with her family after receiving a terminal cancer diagnosis. I am also working on a drama pilot, a period piece about a conflict between two women in a small, isolated New England town. I also have some other pilots, both comedy and drama, in various stages of completion.

I am incredibly excited to be a part of Stage 32, and I look forward to talking with you guys!
