For 16 years, I toiled as a litigation attorney in Washington, DC, the last four as a partner at a national law firm. In late-2016, my wife and I moved with our then 5-month-old to the Monterey area to be closer to family, and my wife graciously allowed me the opportunity to pursue my dream of becoming a writer. So, the expenses are high, the money is tight, but I'm trying to avoid going back to the practice of law at all costs.
