In 1833 a young Englishwoman finds herself unjustly sentenced to transportation for life in the Australian penal colonies. As she struggles to fit in among the hardened criminals aboard a leaky convict ship, she discovers the love of a young midshipman, but when the ship is wrecked, she is forced to make decisions that will change their lives forever.
