LOGLINE:

An undersized, Black quarterback wins the starting role for a small FCS team; but when his father is sentenced to 35 years in prison, he must find the courage to lead his team against one of the best teams in the country.

SYNOPSIS:

Armanti “Money” Edwards grew up dreaming of being a college football quarterback. His father, Freddie, nicknamed his small son, "Money", and always told him to "find a way." Armanti quarterbacks his high school team; but his dreams are crushed when no major college recruits him. Meanwhile, his dad is charged with murder after a poker game. Distraught, Armanti is ready to quit when Coach Moore from tiny Appalachian State offers him a scholarship. Armanti accepts, but soon finds that he must beat out two other players to earn the job. In the midst of Armanti’s struggle, Freddie is sentenced to 35 years in prison. Armanti is crushed and doubts his future in football. But he rededicates himself, winning the starting quarterback job. Armanti faces his biggest challenge when Michigan - the winningest football program in college history - challenges Appalachian State to play in their "Big House". But before he can defeat Goliath, Armanti must learn to accept a little help from his teammates.
