DEAF BOSTON

DEAF BOSTON
By Val Chernyavskiy

GENRE: Comedy
LOGLINE:

A deaf detective and his talkative partner become an unlikely duo, solving everything but ordinary cases when they are tasked with protecting a deaf witness to a murder in a bizarre Boston apartment complex full of strange people and even stranger villains.

SYNOPSIS:

Bob "The Quietest" Tennyson, a detective with the Boston Police Department, loses his hearing in a bizarre accident during an interrogation at a steel mill. The deafening noise of the factory and the suspect’s screams led to Bob’s hearing loss and… the death of the suspect. Bob receives a medal for "Best Case of the Career," but from that moment on, his life descends into utter chaos.

Alongside his partner Ken, a loquacious and eccentric cop, Bob becomes part of Boston’s most unlikely duo. Instead of solving regular cases, they tackle the most ridiculous situations that any normal cop would have given up on. Together, they solve… everything, except normal cases.

"Come on, Bob, just because you can’t hear doesn’t mean you should stop listening to my explanation!" Ken says as Bob struggles to make sense of a phone call.

However, when they are assigned to protect a deaf murder witness who has accidentally become the center of a criminal conspiracy, they face the toughest case of their careers. The witness, David, lives in an apartment complex filled with even stranger individuals: musicians who think louder is always better, grandmothers who play BINGO so loudly they could outshout a parade, and psychopaths who collect screams.

"So how’s it going, Bob? — Me and Ken are just standing here watching old ladies win BINGO!" Ken laughs while filming on his phone, oblivious to the fact that Bob is giving him a completely blank stare.

Meanwhile, the sinister villain, Lynch, a blind mastermind of the criminal underworld, leads a gang of fraudsters and corrupt cops. His sidekicks? Two biker dwarfs who sing to him non-stop, terribly off-key. Lynch is determined to eliminate David, the deaf witness, to keep him from testifying, and anyone else who gets in his way.

But with their unconventional methods (which include ignoring laws, common sense, and any kind of regulation), Bob and Ken must protect the witness and take down Lynch's gang. Along the way, they’ll face biker dwarfs, off-key songs, and outlandish situations that they manage to solve on the fly.

"Give it a couple of hours, Ken, it’ll get easier — just calm down!" Bob yells while Ken chases the dwarfs on a bicycle.

In the epic final showdown, everyone ends up blind (including the villains), the dwarfs accidentally fall out of a window, and Bob and Ken, fighting by touch alone, manage to arrest Lynch, bringing his reign of terror to a ridiculous end.
