FUTURES-DESTINY OF TIME & SPACE
By Miles Metcalfe

GENRE: Drama
LOGLINE: In the early eighties, The Hunts from Texas had just failed to corner the silver market due to government intervention. A Saudi Royal in Newport Beach tells Miles Summers and his partners he wants to try where they failed. He brought money, fame, death and destruction to the four partners

SYNOPSIS:

First, Miles Partner disappears at sea. Then, Miles Summers, a successful Newport Beach stockbroker was killed in the Gulfo Tejuantepc. Mexican authorities said it was a robbery. Kate Simmons, Miles fiancé didn’t believe it. Her pursuit for justice left a trail of murder, sex, cocaine smuggling, and deceit. Her death was next! Most of the story is true. I lived it in Newport Beach CA in the late seventies-early eighties. It received headlines in The Orange County Register and the Daily Pilot. Now, the story can be told as most are deceased. Let me know if you want to read it.

You need a writer miles. Listen to your logline.... when the Hunts from Texas failed he brought money ????? Bad bad bad. I was in the valley buying and selling silver during that time. I bought and sold a couple million dollars of silver at that time, mark

@Mark Ratering

Hi Mark, Did you read the synopsis? Your right. I'm looking for a writer to make a screen play. I'm not interested in the money. If, you were active then yoy know the gov't forced out the Hunts. My story has to do with what happened when the Saudi Prince wanted to corner the silver mkt. Since silver was falling we had to use spreads to keep him in the game. That's in the book. Kindest regards, Miles

@Mark Ratering

I like the story. I am a very rare person in Hollywood because I write produce and raise funds, I have had some big hits. My big hit made 168 million in 1987.

Miles Metcalfe
@Mark Ratering

I liked it too. That's why I wrote it. However, I'm a 77 year old amateur who planned to self publish a few copies for my GrandChildren. This thing has so much red meat in it you won't believe. However, I don't know a damned thing about screen writing nor at my age do I want to learn. Like you, I did it my way.

Mark Ratering
@Mark Ratering

What's you email?

Glen Kinnaird
@Mark Ratering

Mark, I'm trying to research your claims. What was your 1987 Big Hit? Miles, please be smart about who and how much of your story you share. Hollywood is a dog eat dog industry. Nothing in these posts sounds on the level. Trust your instincts and check people out when connecting on the internet. Profiles with little info and no face picture make me nervous. Sorry Mark, just trying to look out for the amateur here at 77 years old. Greg Good Luck!

Miles Metcalfe
@Mark Ratering

Greg, Thank you for sharing some light on the subject. The last time I ate dog was in Okinawa many moons ago. I don't need this so I'm going to close out my search. If I had your email, I would send you a copy of Mark's email and my response. My best goes out to you. Miles

Miles Metcalfe
@Mark Ratering

One other small point Greg. I have a no face picture because it's better looking than me. Miles

Mark Ratering
@Mark Ratering

Greg it was Flower's In The Attic: and if you want to write and work for free do it, I'm sick of people who don't know about this business thinking they do. I worked for Warner I worked for Universal. If you want to write a script for Miles for free do it but I don't need you questioning me,

Miles Metcalfe
@Mark Ratering

Hang on Mark. You are upset and shooting from the hip. I never asked anyone to write a screen play for free. I said I wrote the story just for me. There is no reason for me to pay as I'm offering the story and any $ from a screen play is theirs. Greg made a suggestion that made sense. There is nothing wrong with his advice.

Miles Metcalfe
@Mark Ratering

One other point. As soon as I finish with previous commitments I'm removing my offer. Miles

Mark Ratering
@Mark Ratering

The writer makes the story not the story making the writer. There are no new plots, just twists and great film-making and new locations. My work “Flower’s In The Attic” “Pirate’s Blood” “Black Shama” all on youtube. I was the first to make an English speaking film in the country of Oman, which is waiting for another project t from me to fund. I thought of your story. I tried to be cool with what I needed to package and write the script and I get kicked in the face. I have spent my life since I was 16 in the film business, and outsiders sometimes make me really want to quit.

Miles Metcalfe
@Mark Ratering

I have a proposal. Since you are so successful, I suggest you pay me $50K or $1K /mo. for 6 mo. for my story. Then, you keep all of the proceeds you will gain from your successful screen play.

Mark Ratering
@Mark Ratering

Miles you don't listen... The writer makes the story not the story makes the writer, People outside film think they have oral words that are worth anything,,, They are worth zero...zero...a writer makes them worth anything,,, the person who packages the film.... gets the funds and distribution deal... this is not done for free. Go to A.F.I, like I did and learn. I don't care how rich I am.... your story is like everyone else's...worth zero till it's written for a price. I have plots my backside, your the one that thinks your story is great !!!!! Smarten up this is a business, you think your story is great...pay to have it written and packaged my a pro!!!!

Miles Metcalfe
@Mark Ratering

OK......If you are right, I don't need the deal anyway. Thanks Mark

W. Paul Hughes
@Mark Ratering

Good advice Mark. Thanks for your honesty. Stay N touch please. Paul,

Glen Kinnaird
@Mark Ratering

Mark, Are you really Jeffrey Bloom? Because he wrote Flowers in the Attic. I was simply asking asking questions, I was not attacking you or your credibility here. This is an indie site, if you are a Hollywood big shot, why would you be here with all of us on the ground level? Seems hard to swallow some of your claims is all I am saying. If you are who you say, then you would have no problem supplying a resume and references if Miles wanted to work with you. After your outburst, I would say there is a red flag with respect to your attitude. Is that how people act at the top? I know people at Disney and they are all wonderful gentle rationale people, very professional. Besides, We know where we are here and that we have no experience. We don't need people like you here to remind us we don't have experience, crush our dreams or tell us we know zero. Just because you have been at it for 16 does years does not give you the right to put anyone below you. Actually, from your past credits, you are not exactly Blockbuster either. : ) (Insert laugh track) I may not have a produced an award winning script "yet" or a million dollar deal "yet", but I have a formal credited college degree in writing. This "is" a business and it is also a passion for most of us. The most important thing I have learn along the way is to be gracious and no matter where you are in the top or on the bottom, being nice goes a long way. Nice people want to work with nice people. When money issues and greed creep in to corrupt the art it taints the art form. Plus...There are lots of talented writers out there at many levels that would work on this script with Miles as long as he signed a contract deal to give me a share in his profits, should there be any. Miles, my email is opendoorscasting@gmail.com I would entertain any communication from you Sir. I'm just a guy outside film looking in worth "zero" to some, but a precious gem to the One that matters most, ME. : ) You all have a wonderful day.

@Mark Ratering

What an outstanding piece this is. It reaffirms our desires when dealing with good and evil or Yin and Yang. In the end we see the best in man. I will be in touch.

Mark Ratering
@Mark Ratering

Greg are you calling Paul and Dan new. This site us for everyone, I teach and learn. Greg... you are stuck in being new, I don't think less of you cuz you don't know what your doing. You should learn what you can! Richard has made you the new owner... good for you!! Mt partner Sy Levin bought the rights to "Flower's" and wrote the first draft, Now I don't need to get into my business with someone "new" but I think instead of turning on someone who has made films you should respect and be happy for the help. If you don't and can't get anything from my words then go your way. Your not helping anyone by filling them with a bad facts and bad idea's because you don't know what your talking about.

Keri Johnson

Quick question. Has anyone ever talked to you about the story before? Like did they approach you or anyone involved with the true events to corroborate and eventually publish it?
