SYNOPSIS:
Inspired by the eco-thrillers of the 70s and 80s, THREAT AT THE LAKE is a contemporary take on the genre.
Laurel Knob Lake is a popular tourist destination, but it's slowly being polluted by the toxic mine run-off from a local mining operation. Now, there's a new threat at the lake - people are being attacked by a wild animal. Sheriff Rayline Cline has never seen anything like it, and neither has the local Fish and Game officer. With the help of a local university PhD candidate, they discover an evolutionary mutation caused by the mine's toxic waste that has turned a native salamander into an apex predator. When Rayline's nephew, Bobby, who is an attorney representing the mining company, comes to look into the string of attacks, they learn more about how the corporation's greed has taken its toll on the town of Laurel Knob. With time running out before the start of the tourist season, Rayline, Bobby, and their ragtag team must find a way to neutralize the threat at the lake.
