DADDY

DADDY
By Karlton Ruffin

GENRE: Drama
LOGLINE:

When a guarded man discovers he has a 20-year-old daughter he never knew existed, he’s forced to confront his past and fight for the bond they never had—before time, pain, and pride takes it away for good.

SYNOPSIS:

In his twenties, Carvin Powell was a respected radio personality with a calm voice, a steady presence, and a life just beginning to unfold. During that time, he meets and developes a sexual relationship with Sunmer Hawkins, a devoted listener and fan. The two share an apartment together, but when the relationship broke under the pressure of emotional strain, Carvin asked her to leave—never knowing she was pregnant with his child.

Without a word, Summer left the state and raised their daughter alone, choosing silence over confrontation.

Now, two decades later, Carvin is married, successful, and living a life he believes is complete—until the unimaginable happens. Karlin Davis, a bright and accomplished young woman, joins the same firm where Carvin works. Through casual conversations and unexpected revelations, he learns the truth: Karlin is his daughter.

But rather than anger or resentment, Karlin brings something far more powerful—an open heart. Willing to embrace the father she never knew, she invites Carvin into her life with grace, curiosity, and quiet strength.

As Carvin grapples with the guilt of missing her childhood and the delicate balance of his current life, he finds himself drawn into a bond he never expected—but desperately needs.

DADDY is an emotionally layered drama about healing, humility, and the tender path of rediscovery between a father and the daughter who never closed the door.
