WARRIOR WARRIOR
By Brian Michaels

GENRE: Drama, Biography
LOGLINE:

Based on a true story, a shy 19-year-old with a physically abusive father finds himself on a path of self-destruction after becoming a male stripper to support his medical school ambitions.

SYNOPSIS:

I’ve written a dramatic feature screenplay called “Warrior Warrior” that I’d like to send your way. It’s a coming-of-age story based on my life. It’s received a “Recommend” by Shore Scripts and is currently awaiting results from numerous screenwriting competitions. “Warrior Warrior” is written along the lines of such movies as Boogie Nights, The Hangover and Hustlers.

THE WORLD: Our story takes place on the wrong side of Detroit’s Eight Mile, circa 1984. Unemployment is skyrocketing as fast as the auto plants are closing their doors. As the economy plummets, the local bars remain a trusted place to forget one’s troubles. This includes the women, many of whom head to the latest “fad”, male-strip shows.

THE FILM: It's about a down-on-his-luck kid who's grown up under the pressures of a physically abusive father. Our story begins with Mitch’s dreams of medical school being smashed. So, he heads down to the local-watering-hole only to discover that his Polish coke dealing neighbors are running a male strip show. Mitch decides to sub as a stripper as a way to “pay his own way” and dig himself out of his failed situation. The only problem is, Mitch is the world’s worst dancer and has zero “game” with the ladies.

The naïve Mitch must navigate a path of debauchery spawned by the greed of those around him. He achieves local celebrity status only to find out that his new and exciting lifestyle is one of self-destruction. His journey of self-discovery takes him through the depths of the Miami drug scene ending with a successful stint on the Vegas Strip where he is finally forced to make a moral stand and retake his life.

WHY THIS PROJECT: I believe that the originally comedic encounters and dynamic characters in “Warrior Warrior” will appeal to a large base of both male and female audiences.

Thank you for your consideration,

Brian Michaels

This idea is ripe for drama and conflict! I'd suggest rewording the structure just to really sell the story and hook a reader. For example: 'Based on a true story, a shy 19 year-old with a physically abusive father finds himself on a path of self-destruction after becoming a male stripper to support his medical school ambitions.'
