Hi, my name is Theron Wells, and I am a professional Voice Actor based in Portland, Oregon. Originally from Dothan, Alabama, I offer an authentic, resonant Southern tone ideal for Commercial Utility in roles requiring the imprint of a Southern/Country-Western/Outdoorsy timber and/or brand.
Having received a B.A. in English Literature from Princeton University in 1995, I can also provide a more neutral, cultured accent well suited to instructional Narration. Shortly after graduation I suffered a life changing spinal injury and have sustained myself since 2001 through cafe and bar service. Here I daily honed my “Welcome” to a consistently positive response.
If you want authentic tone, Real South, Heartfelt Country, Inviting Outdoors, even Sophisticated Soulfulness, come to the Well.
I began studies for Voiceover in 2017 online, followed by in-person Voice lessons and then Acting Scene Study, Improvisation, and Meisner Technique. Josh Millman @ Talkback Sound & Video laid down some smooth Demo Reels for me. I created a Biz Arts webpage called The Well- narrating my story, detailing my credentials, posting new work highlights regularly @ .
I’ve now completed hundreds of auditions for Voice 1,2,3, & others, written and edited copy to create content for my site and to solicit projects in which I am interested. I perform and record from a high quality home studio. I am currently not member of a union, nor do I have representation. I work quickly on short notice, edit meticulously, and value transparency & clear communication.
I also enjoy writing very much and have a few children's stories, travel vignettes, meditations, film/music reviews out there somewhere.
I would love to collaborate on a script. My tastes tend to strong dialogue, serious content, dark humor, awkward moments of passage, conflicts of the human heart.
Unique traits: Southern drawl, Infectious Grin, Direct Approach, Way with Words. Southern Expatriate, Spinal Injury Survivor, Late Creative Bloomer.
