About Derek

Derek Keith Johnson, II was born in Atlanta, GA in 1995 to an Army field medic and a psychology professor. From a young age, he had a fascination with science and fiction writing. After living in serval different states, his family settled in Murfreesboro, TN, a small town near Nashville. Even though his early school years were focused on becoming a geneticist, his hobby time was spent in his school and community theatre, acting on stage. During his early years in college, he made money by being a professional breakdancer. In college, his internship with Disney brought him to Florida. He graduated from FSU with degrees in both Film and Politics.
