30 DAYS WITH YOU
By Marcella Steele

GENRE: Romance, Comedy
LOGLINE:

After losing her job, a risk-averse woman embarks on her dream vacation to Barcelona, but when she accepts a younger man’s offer to be her tour guide, she finds herself breaking all the rules for a precarious second chance at love.

SYNOPSIS:

Set between San Francisco and Barcelona, this dramedy (loosely based on a true story) features an interracial and reverse age-gap romance in an inspiring (against all odds) story about love after forty. It shines a spotlight on ageism and double standards that still place limitations on women in our society. Beyond the romance, the story is a tale of a woman's second coming-of-age that carries the message: It's never too late to realize one's dreams.

When Sofia (49 and 3/4) crosses paths with Jason (35) at a job networking event in San Francisco, she dismisses his proposal to come with him to Barcelona as ridiculous, even though the attraction is sizzling like fireworks. Since Sofia has been laid-off from her high-profile job but is sitting pretty with a severance package, her best friend inspires her to take a chance and seize the day. This leads Sofia to follow a long-held dream to return to Europe, and she books a solo trip to Barcelona for one month in hopes of re-discovering her adventurous spirit and charting a new course. And while she swears she won’t get back on the dating horse, having recently been dumped, her heart is driving from the back seat, steering her to find the elusive love she’s missing.

When Sofia arrives in Barcelona and finds the courage to send Jason a text, she never could have imagined the adventure she was about to embark on.

Jason, also just arriving in Barcelona, proposes a deal she can't refuse. He offers to be her tour guide for the month. But one thing is clear for both of them: The stakes of falling into a relationship are too high. In an attempt to guard their hearts, they agree on a plan: Thirty days of vacation fun, then they go their separate ways. The “no expectations rule” protects them from heartbreak, or so they think...
