LOGLINE:

In a rising indie band, heartbroken Matt invites his talented bandmate Jess—who’s secretly grappling with her identity—to the wedding of his cheating ex and brother. As their unexpected connection deepens, they must navigate heartbreak, hidden truths, and the quest for self-acceptance, revealing that true love often comes in the most unexpected forms.

SYNOPSIS:

Act 1: Matt, a passionate musician, is reeling from his breakup with his ex-girlfriend Noelle, who’s now marrying his brother Alex. Desperate to prove he’s moved on, Matt is determined to find a date for the wedding. Meanwhile, Jess, a talented bassist looking for a new band, joins Matt’s group as both a musician and social media marketer. Though initially platonic, her growing friendship with Matt deepens when he opens up about his painful past and unresolved feelings towards his ex. In a lighthearted moment, Jess jokingly suggests they stage a fake pregnancy at the wedding, setting the tone for their dynamic bond.

Act 2: As their friendship strengthens, Jess finds herself at a crossroads. Her feelings for Matt begin to blur when her love interest, Hannah, enters the picture, causing Jess to reflect on her identity and the complexities of love. Tension builds between Matt and Jess, culminating in a confusing kiss that leaves Jess questioning her desires. Overwhelmed, Jess chooses to leave the band and cancels as Matt's date for the wedding, leaving Matt heartbroken and struggling to confront his own emotions.

Act 3: At the wedding, a confrontation between Matt and Alex leads to a chaotic fight, with Matt impulsively punching his brother into the wedding cake. Despite the fallout, Matt finds a sense of closure and embraces the idea of moving on, accepting responsibility for the damage done but gaining a new perspective on life. Meanwhile, Jess chooses to explore her relationship with Hannah, leading to a trip that symbolizes her journey of self-discovery. As both Matt and Jess step into new chapters of their lives, they find hope in unexpected places—Matt through his music and a budding new connection, and Jess through her evolving relationship with Hannah.
