Ok, I am going to put this out there. I have been thinking about this for a while and have been really hesitant to do this for the fear of it not working out. If it doesn’t at least I tried—right? Anyhow, I would like to put together a filmmakers troupe – e.g. Actors –Writers, to practice our craft while simultaneously building reels for the possibility of future work. I am not doing this for a lighting reel or to build my lighting resume as I am very well versed in that area. What I personally am trying to do is challenge myself more as well as gain more experience Directing, Shooting and Cutting. I have all the necessary gear to make this happen; issue is, I just don’t have the actors for the front of the camera. So, if you’re a writer and have a short script you would like to see come to life or an actor who wants to work their chops or an A.D., Producer, Makeup, Designer who would simply like to gain more experience, contact me and lets see what we can collaborate on. Here's a question--let's see how good everyone is :P I'm working on a concept for a script that takes place in two time periods separated by 20 years and includes all the same characters in each time period... however... I want to write the script linear, using the same actors & actresses to play their respective characters in both time periods. The idea is to write a linear film which is actually made up of two time periods simultaneously. For a bit of clarity, let's say in 1990 there was a group of people that 'robbed' something but one betrays the others and makes off with the 'goods', then twenty years later, for reasons unimportant, they re-unite to find out which one had betrayed them. But the trick is to write it as a linear film in which the audience doesn't differentiate the 'past' from the 'present' and it looks as if it all takes place in the 'now'. (This is vital to the 'hook' at the end of the film btw) So, all that being said, does anyone know of any films in which this has been done? I'm looking for something similar to see how writers have tackled this dilemma in the past--no pun intended. Danke!

Hey all! Just a post for fun here... sort of a poll, if you will. I'm really interested in seeing all the variety of camera choices these days, especially in filmmaking. I'm just curious how many different cameras are being used these days, or if certain cameras like RED or C300 are beginning to trend? What did you most recently shoot on and how was the experience?
