NIGHT OF THE LOVING DEAD
By Don Hauka

GENRE: Romance, Comedy
LOGLINE:

A small town hockey hero must defeat a team of genetically-modified veggie-zombies led by his arch-nemesis to win back his wife and save his town when the Biggar Demons turn the local ice rink into a sheet of screams during a game seven that gives new meaning to sudden death. "Shaun of the Dead" meets "Slapshot" in this dark comedy.

SYNOPSIS:

Dean O'Brien is a small town hockey hero with big league problems. He's wracked with guilt over the death of his arch-rival, Frank "Mars Boreman" and the entire Biggar Demons hockey team in a collision with a tanker truck on the eve of a championship game. Worse, he's not sure if his son is his or Frank's and his wife, Betty, isn't saying. He hasn't been able to put on his game face in a year and his nightmares are getting worse. He needs a shot at redemption. If only he could somehow play that Game Seven against Frank and the Demons, everything would be right again.

Dean's going to get his wish. He might even live to regret it. Because Boreman and the Demons come back to life as genetically-modified "veggie zombies" – human seeds who are perfectly normal until the temperature is just right…

Dean battles Frank's Demons and his own to stage the long-delayed Game Seven in his hometown rink. It's too bad he doesn't know he's a pawn in a horrific game being played by Dr. Thumm, the evil genius behind the "Seeds of Life" project that's produced the veggie zombies. At stake are Dean's family, his friend and neighbors from Vedder and maybe the future of life itself on the planet. No pressure…

Written by Don Hauka, "Zombies and Zambonis" gives new meaning to the phrase "sudden death." Watch out for head shots, boys.

A small-town hockey hero (protagonist) must defeat (objective) a team of genetically modified veggie-zombies when the Biggar Demons (antagonistic force) turn the local ice rink into a sheet of screams (inciting incident) during game seven. (Just a suggestion)

Good movie loglines contain these 4 elements but keep your interest to learn more. You want to keep it to one sentence less than 30 to 40 words.

Nice suggestions! Thanks, Daniel!
