A widowed woman from New Delhi struggles to adapt to a different lifestyle when she moves in with her son and daughter-in-law in USA.

SYNOPSIS:

Embedded among young professionals from India are their parents who have moved to

America to be near their children. The tussle between the ways of the old world and the

new is hardly unique to Indian Americans in this country of immigrants. “A Different

World” is a refreshing iteration of the same story of adaptation and assimilation with an

older woman as the protagonist. Through it we glimpse the world of English speaking

upper middle-class Indians about which little is seen in contemporary movies.
