To anyone around the Atlanta area who does any film work, Indie to big budget, I would to collaborate!
I have a catalogue of finished screenplays and pilots for shows. What is the next step in getting them out there into the world? Is it getting an agent/manager? Or is it another route that I'm currently unaware of. I am genuinely in need of advice and help.
Agents close deals. So if you already have a deal, you can maybe find an agent.
Managers can get your work out to potential buyers, and usually guide your career (and your writing) in the process.

But you don't require either.
And even if you have either, you will still be the person whose actions are most likely to result in a sale or assignment. A manager has dozens of clients, you have only one.
Business is half of being a screenwriter.
You can e-query Production Companies (and managers while you're at it). You can do that networking thing where you meet people in the business. You can get your scripts out there on your own - nobody else required - and sell them or land assignments. You need a lawyer for contracts. That's what I did. I have 3 HBO World Premiere Movies on TubiTV right now. One of my Showtime movies is there, too. I think there's 6 this month. Out of the 19 made. Many more sold or optioned or assignments written. Heck, when digging through a box a couple of weeks ago I found the copy of "Criminal Conversations" they gave me at Cruise/Wagner a couple of decades ago... didn't get that job, but I was in the running. No agent. No manager. No problem.
All of the information is out there.
Thank you to everyone that responded! The biggest take away I see is that regardless of the countless options to market my screenplay, its my hustle that will determine my screenplay getting out there.

Expand commentHey Christopher Harmon! I just hit you up on your other post. I am happy to help you take your career forward with some thoughts. The beauty about Stage 32 as compared to other platforms is that you are in control of who reads your scripts and who you receive thoughts and feedback from, rather than having a site "host" your scripts and collect a revolving fee from you every month. They are happy to take your money, but it is more of a passive way of getting your work out there. And I can tell you're about the hustle which I appreciate and want to help.
I am looking for managers to represent me as a screenwriter. I have a deep catalogue of film and television screenplays and pilots ready to be sold or marketed. I am diligent, consistent, professional, and hardworking and ready at a moment's notice to send my work.
