SYNOPSIS:
Rough draft. Want to revise this piece, keep it 10 minutes. Haven't decided if this script is worth expanding. I'm testing the waters, so to speak. I like the idea I had to write a tale of 'evil' mermaids, or, mermaids as seen in their traditional form, sea creatures that lured and killed sailors, and not the contemporary benign mermaid image of pretty creatures that live peacefully in the ocean. This idea makes me happy. Just not sure if mermaid horror is something that horror fans care about. Got to thinking of this after watching the film "The Lighthouse". Great film, yet friends and acquaintances consider it 'arty', and haven't watched it, no matter how much I rave about the film. Makes me wonder if my tastes will ever lead me to write a sellable script.
