When he gets his draft notice, he wants to flee to Canada but his girlfriend loves their French Quarter apartment and Mardi Gras is approaching. To beat the draft, his toe is about to be cut off by a friend when a surprise knocks on the door.

SYNOPSIS:

It's late fall 1968. When Sam comes back to the apartment stressed out about his day at the DMV, things only get worse. His draft notice has arrived. He wants to flee to Canada with his girlfriend, Monica. She, however, is a New Orleans girl and does not want to leave her second floor French Quarter apartment with Mardi Gras around the corner. Sam is devastated that she would pick the apartment over him. Enter their friend Don, who has brought mushrooms. They mix the powered mushrooms with marijuana to get stoned and to concoct a plan for Sam to dodge the draft. Sam and Don decide they are going severe Sam’s little toe. Monica cannot watch so she goes onto their balcony and flashes her tits to the crowd. Before Don is able to cut-off Sam’s toe Monica’s mother makes a surprise visit with a solution and a request.
