The king of Yum in his surreal land of food, finds that old ways of ruling no longer work for his people. It takes much convincing to change old traditions, especially since he is up against his own mother. 

SYNOPSIS:

HIS ROYAL CHUBBINESS – THE MOVIE

The royal family of Chubs are the rulers of a land called Yum. The Royal Chubs, share a great love for food, so is the law of their land ‘Food is love and love is food’. The Royal Chubs have ruled the land for decades. King Chubbiness the 12th is the ruler of Yum. He is married to Queen Adeline and they both have two children, Prince Chubbiness and Princess Puffy. King Chubbiness becomes gravely ill, after ten years Prince Chubbiness takes over the throne. Prince Chubbiness on receiving the edible crown becomes His Royal Chubbiness and the new ruler of the Yums. The commoners of the land of Yum are referred to as the Yums. The story focuses on two families specifically the Smoothies and the Berries. His Royal Chubbiness finds himself always having to prove himself to Queen Adeline. Queen Adeline favours her dearest Princess Puffy, who is growing larger and large by the day. Princess Puffy is so large that the royal assistants move her around in a trolley. His Royal Chubbiness does not see eye to eye with the queen who is always dissatisfied with his ruling. She turns a blind eye to Princess Puffys unacceptable behaviour.

The Royal Chubs celebrate the most important holiday called National Food day; it is the king that plans this event. Princess Puffys sixteenth birthday is the day after, and a grand celebration is to take place. Queen Adeline has ordered His Royal Chubbiness to source one hundred presents from far and wide, as a surprise for the princess. Diago the royal planner in the castle, gets a sneaky idea and together with his cousin Pito plan on stealing the princesses presents. The queen finds out about this and is furious with His Royal Chubbiness, who is in search of the thieves. Meanwhile His Royal Chubbiness has planned a contest for National Food Day called Showcase the foodie. The Yums are invited to participate and the lucky family the Smoothies win the prize, an invitation to the princess’s birthday celebration. Bubblegum Smoothie the son of the Smoothies is arrested at the place for being too skinny. Little do the Chubs know that he is the main farmer and supplier to the royal’s kitchen. Diago and Pito are found with the one hundred presents and soon imprisoned in the palace dungeon. The Berries a family who own the candy store, are ever so busy making candies. Their little girl Berry Jane is always bullied by her brothers Gumdrop and Caramellow. She eventually runs away from home into the floss woods, were she meets His Royal Chubbiness. They both share their stories of bullying and unhappiness. Little Berry Jane, gives His Royal Chubbiness hope, that the people of Yum look up to him as a ruler.

His Royal Chubbiness still cannot find his crown and has ordered Picanto the painter to search the palace. It so happens the crown is found, in the princess’s cookie jar, at least some of it. The princess has eaten the crown. Queen Adeline apologies to His Royal Chubbiness and has arranged for the crown to be remade and a new crowning ceremony takes place.
