SYNOPSIS:

Viviene is a tyrannical and desperate witch catching humans with her magic traps, trying to find anyone with the whereabouts of her missing daughter, Zora. Zora was kidnapped 10 years ago by a group of power-hungry deities. In the past, Viviene was an ordinary woman trying to care for her daughter in a small town of civilization. But Hugo, a former member of the Puritan church corrupted with greed and power fled and returned with a group of individuals with powers of dark magic. Zora was snatched by the leader and Viviene was cursed with dark magic and held under the strings of Hugo to catch as many humans as possible to start a wicked society of sorcerers. The leader warns Viviene that he will suck the life out of her daughter if she dares to rebel against him.

Viviene catches one of the deities, Gerard, in disguise as a human, claiming to know of Zora’s whereabouts. Viviene, in disbelief and anger over the years she spent trying to find her daughter, tortures Gerard for information. The clue to her whereabouts is in the book of Voodoo, buried somewhere in a forbidden graveyard in the woods. Gerard tries to make a deal with Viviene, recover the book of Voodoo to give to his former leader, and he’ll reveal the location of Zora, who is being forced to act as a puppet for the coven.

Determined to find her daughter before it is too late, Viviene and the captive embark on a journey to the forbidden graveyard. Along the way, Viviene gets a suspicious feeling about Gerard leading her into a trap. Gerard reveals he was once a member of the Puritan church but left because of his conflicting beliefs towards the Puritans. Gerard’s wife disappeared and was taken hostage by Hugo; Gerard tried to make a deal to save his wife’s life, but was ostracized by civilization for having affairs with someone suspected to be a witch. Gerard’s wife was killed after Hugo suspected his former right-hand man plotting a coup to bring down the coven.

Viviene and Gerard make their way to the graveyard and are forced to look for clues to find the location of the book. Viviene’s magic begins to act up due to her declining spiritual health. With Gerard’s expertise in religious scriptures, both Viviene and Gerard try to piece together a series of scriptures recited by Hugo using written scriptures left by the dead on their graves. Viviene uses her magic to piece together the hidden steps to the Book of Voodoo and stumbles across a pile of corpses.

The dead come to life and imprison both Viviene and Gerard using the power of the deities to prevent their search. Gerard and Viviene try to hold off the dead but they are too powerful to overrun due to Hugo’s spiritual influence. Gerard is almost lured in by his wife’s corpse, manipulating him to give up. Viviene kills Gerard’s wife to his dismay, causing him to abandon the witch. Viviene is forced to hide in a small fort where the dead continue to swarm around her. Viviene’s health continues to decline as her magic continues to weaken.

Gerard finds the Book of Voodoo, and recites a spell to clear a path to the fort. Making it in time to see a weakened Viviene, Gerard recites a spell to heal the witch. Viviene insists on saving the power of the book of Voodoo in order to find her daughter, but Gerard wants to use it to obtain as much power as he can to take down Hugo. Viviene refuses, knowing the book will corrupt him and make him as ruthless as Hugo. Gerard scolds Viviene for not wanting to join the coven to better protect her daughter, but the latter reminds the man why she was forced into helping Hugo and just wants to get her daughter back and make things right.

Gerard has a change of heart, sacrificing himself to clear a way for Viviene. Viviene uses some of her magic to find out where the coven of deities is and she leaves the graveyard. Viviene goes face-to-face with the coven of deities in the same spot where Zora was kidnapped 10 years ago. Hugo is surprised to see Viviene with the book of Voodoo in her hand. The coven of deities is using Zora, now a young adult, to retain their immortality by slowly sucking the life out of her. Viviene pleads to just let her daughter go, but Hugo insists on seeing the book first. Zora begs her mother not to give them the book or they both die. Viviene is forced to give up the book as the members release the girl.

Hugo discovers the book of Voodoo has very little power due to Gerard using it constantly in the graveyard. With the evil individuals focused on killing both the witch and her daughter, Viviene prepares herself to protect Zora. One by one, the members of the coven are killed with Viviene’s own magic. A dying Viviene is about to be disintegrated by a weakened Hugo, but Zora makes it just in time by using the book of Voodoo to strip Hugo of his powers. Viviene finally casts her last spell and disintegrates Hugo into oblivion. Dying in Zora’s arms, Viviene professes her motherly love for her. Zora burns the book of Voodoo in the fire and walks back to civilization, trying to readjust to normal life.
