BLACK BELT
By Eric Roberts

GENRE: Action
LOGLINE:

When his single mother is diagnosed with a terminal illness, a young Tae Kwon Do black belt with Down Syndrome must use his martial arts training to survive on his own in a dangerous world.

SYNOPSIS:

Skip Williams, our young action hero with Down Syndrome has only lived at home with his impoverished mother. She has always been over protective, doing almost everything for him to protect him from the world. Skip has no survival skills other than his martial arts training. When his mother is diagnosed with dementia, and will soon no longer be able to care for him, Skip's martial arts instructor takes Skip under his wing, knowing time is of the essence to teach Skip essential survival skills - life skills most of us take for granted such as telling time, managing money, interviewing for a job, using public transportation, and living independently. It's tough going for Skip, learning so much so quickly, but his martial arts training in the importance of courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control, and indomitable spirit come into play in five real-world survival experiences, especially when drug addicts living next door try to bully, intimidate and even rob him.
