John is running from an unbearable situation at home, and finds love and family in the Irish countryside with Aicha, but the peace they live in is fragile and breaks at the touch of a feather. Drama, Romance

SYNOPSIS:

Aicha lives in a peaceful, dreamlike world in the Irish countryside, where she raises her two cheeky young boys, and creates beautiful art.

It’s all interrupted when John comes running and stumbling into her life, opening up the protective shell she has built around her sanctuary.

John is running from a tragic home life. His wife was severely injured in a car accident ten years ago, but she is still hanging on with severe brain damage that left her dependent on his care.

As a last promise to her, he makes their dream come true and goes to Ireland, only to find complete serenity and the love he’s been missing for so long.

Something is off, though, about Aicha’s peaceful existence. Something dark lurks in the corners, and the protection she has built up is there for a reason.

John soon finds, that the sanctuary is no sanctuary at all - it’s a prison.

He is torn between staying at home with his wife, and helping the woman he is falling in love with.

When his wife finally succumbs to her illness, he is inconsolable and blames himself for her death.

All the while, back in Ireland, Aicha has to deal with her own tragic situation: she is held in perpetual uncertainty by her abusive ex, who refuses to let her go.

She emancipates herself, goes away to build a real sanctuary. And is joined by John, who overcomes his grief and allows himself forgiveness.
