CURSE OF THE KILLING MOON

CURSE OF THE KILLING MOON
By Mark Rochon

GENRE: Horror
LOGLINE:

A chill night at home turns creepy for a Gen Z woman who discovers the previous tenant’s ringing smartphone hidden behind a patched-up wall in her new apartment. When the young woman and her friends investigate this mystery, they find themselves hunted by a werewolf and soon learn that death is their best escape.

SYNOPSIS:

Cousins, Julie and Amanda have just moved into their first post-collegiate apartment in Chicago. The fact that the apartment is a bit on the rundown side can easily be overlooked because of the cheap rent. However, some things are too creepy to be ignored. There’s an awful reddish-brown stain on the bathroom wall, the unnerving clink of what sounds like chains from the upstairs apartment, and the pungent smell of earthy decay in the apartment’s heating vents. Not to mention, their upstairs neighbors, the building’s maintenance guy, Andrei, is a bit peculiar and his mother is downright creepy.

On the next night, the creepiness turns deadly. When the girls, and their guy friends, Pedro and Jay, discover the previous tenant’s ringing flip phone behind a patched-up wall in the apartment, they do the only sensible thing – run. The problem is luck isn’t on their side. Their fates are sealed. A night of terror awaits all of them. While attempting to escape through the backyard, something in the darkness snarls at the kids. They freeze. They see eyes. They see teeth. Then, in a flash, Jay is snatched up, gone into the night along with whatever made those nasty snarls. With no time to think, Julie, Amanda, and Pedro turn to Andrei for help. But can Andrei be trusted? The short answer is “Hell, no!” Andrei’s mother is a werewolf and he’s spent the last year keeping her feed and alive. You see, Andrei knows that when his mother dies, the curse that turns his mother into a werewolf will pass to him and he will become a hairy, hungry, killing machine. Before the night is through, many will die, and the survivors will discover why death is their only comfort.
