After avoiding pregnancy all their lives a doctor, a lawyer and a Tv writer who see their chance at motherhood slipping away, return to Paris where they met studying abroad 20 years earlier… to catch the sperm that got away.
SYNOPSIS:
When three friends meet to celebrate the first one among them to turn 40, they party hard. But by the end of the night as they reflect on what they had imagined for themselves at that milestone…they realize no one is even remotely close to what they had planned.
Amanda, 39, a cancer researcher, tries to regulate her biological time-bomb while in a 5-year relationship with a man who is ambivalent about having children. When she finally asks for a sperm donation for in vitro and he weasels out, she breaks up with him, cancels what would have been their “fertilization celebration” in the City of Lights – and decides to take her two best friends instead.
Shocked by her gay bestie’s sudden declaration of love, TV-writer Kate, 39, freaks out – and a trip to Paris seems like the perfect escape. Once there, she reconnects with her first girlfriend – only to realize she is running from the fear of embarking on a relationship with someone she holds so dear.
Stuck in dead-end relationships with married guys, Kirsten, 39, wants to cut to the chase and just get pregnant. So when she reunites with her old boyfriend in Paris, 20 years after they were pregnant, she sees an opportunity for a do-over.
As the three struggle with the gap between their fantasies and reality, they are challenged to let go of their expectations and create new ways to experience love, family and motherhood.
