BIOPIC CRIME DRAMA/THRILLER
At the height of her fame, Amy Winehouse unwittingly bankrolls a kidnap and becomes entangled in an underworld plot that puts her career, freedom and the life of an innocent man on the line.
SYNOPSIS:
James King, the landlord of an east London boozer sustains horrific injuries in an unprovoked violent attack. Facing long prison sentences the perpetrators plan to wreck the trial and escape incarceration. They hire organised criminals to intimidate King and a plan is hatched to kidnap him to prevent him from giving evidence in the forthcoming trial. Amy Winehouse is married to Blake Fielder-Civil, one of King’s attackers. She is implicated in the plot when she unwittingly funds the kidnap, jeopardising her career at the height of her fame. The gangsters, sensing a bigger payday, double-cross everyone involved by selling the story to the media. They team up with tabloid reporters, setting up an elaborate covert sting operation with hidden cameras but end up incriminating themselves in the process. King narrowly escapes with his life but despite being innocent is arrested and spends 8 months behind bars, fighting to prove his innocence in HMP Brixton, one of Britains toughest prisons. In a high profile and unprecedented legal battle where he is both witness and defendant, King finally achieves justice.

If this is the biography of King? Or Winehouse?
Hi, Pattana. Thanks for reading my logline. It's not really a 'biography' (there was no option for 'true story' or 'biopic'). It's more of a Biopic crime drama/thriller. Myself and Amy are duel protagonists. It is slightly biographical but focuses on events that happened whilst I was the landlord of 'The Macbeth' public house in the east end of London.
