SYNOPSIS:
The screenplay follows Robert Hyland, a scarred and hardened former Confederate soldier who is asked by the local sheriff to help take down notorious slave trader and Robert's former general, Lucius Colson. Robert is hesitant, but when he hears that Lucius is still involved in the illegal slave trade, he decides to take the job to avenge the deaths of his wife and child, killed in a fire caused by Lucius.
Robert tracks down a former slave who worked for Lucius and gains information about his whereabouts. He faces danger on his journey to find Lucius, encountering hostile Native Americans and treacherous terrain. Along the way, he helps defend a group of homesteaders and meets a beautiful widow who he shares a flirtatious conversation with.
Robert finally tracks down Lucius's hideout but is ambushed by his men and taken captive. He is thrown into a cell with a group of escaped slaves, where he learns about their stories of abuse and oppression, leading him to see the world from their perspective. Robert manages to escape and sets out to free the other slaves.
Robert seeks out the help of a Native American tracker to infiltrate Lucius's inner circle and gather evidence against him. They engage in numerous dangerous situations and confrontations, including a showdown with Lucius himself. Robert emerges victorious but at a great personal cost.
In the third act, Robert and the freed slaves band together to take down Lucius once and for all, gathering their forces and preparing for a final confrontation. They engage in a brutal, final showdown, resulting in heavy losses and casualties on both sides. Robert emerges victorious and reflects on the lessons he has learned throughout his journey, promising to use his skills and experiences to help those in need.
The screenplay concludes with Robert building a new community based on justice, equality, and respect for all people, and his legacy lives on as future generations remember him as a hero who fought for what was right and never gave up in the face of adversity.
