SYNOPSIS:
CHRIS is an idealistic police officer who is struggling to pay for a liver transplant surgery that his newborn premature DAUGHTER desperately needs. His police partner, JAMIE, is an ambitious and ruthless individual who owes a lot of money to the loan sharks due to his gambling debts. Chris and Jamie respond to an active bank robbery. After a standoff, the BANDITS flee the scene, taking Jamie hostage and half of the loot. Chris ends up saving a BANK EMPLOYEE who turns out to be the daughter of the BANK PRESIDENT. On the good word of the Bank President, Chris gets introduced to HAROLD, a cutthroat wealthy businessman who needs security to escort a large sum of unaccounted cash to be moved in exchange for a fee, that Chris could use it for his daughter's surgery. Harold's son, RANDALL, a greedy, self-centered, spoiled brat who dates the Bank President’s daughter, was secretly the planner of the bank robbery. He is not happy with his father's decision to employ Chris for this perilous job, which he's relying on to swindle his father's cash. STEVE, the sergeant and Chris and Jamie's boss, is a father figure for Chris and volunteers to help him succeed in his shady mission.
On mission day, Chris and Steve gather a couple of duffel bags filled with currency bills in a dinghy and bring them to shore. After transferring the bags to their car, they set off to complete the mission. However, after driving just a few miles, they are pulled over by a police car with two armed, masked men. The men force Chris and Steve to give up the cash. When Chris fights back, he is overpowered, and Steve is badly beaten. They are then forced into the car's trunk. Chris and Steve are shocked to discover that the two masked men are actually Jamie and Randall. With Steve unconscious and their car pushed into a reservoir, Chris struggles to save both himself and his mentor. He manages to swim to the shore and performs CPR on Steve, reviving him. Together, they use Steve's connections and their police authority to track down the money. However, in the process, Jamie shoots and gravely injures Steve. Chris ultimately escapes with the cash.
In a desperate move, Randall kidnaps Chris' wife, Beth, his support pill, to force Chris to return the money. But Jamie kills Randal after he's bothered by his methods and to keep the money for himself. In the final standoff between Chris and Jamie, when Jamie is ready to pull the trigger on Chris, Beth charges and nudges him. Chris takes a clear shot and instantly kills Jamie in self-defense. Chris takes Beth to safety and then returns the money to Harold, deducting his promised fee. He shows Harold his bodycam clip that reveals his son's true colors. Though deeply shaken by Steve’s death and Jamie’s betrayal, Chris' family perseveres. Chris and Beth find peace in each other and their daughter, grateful for Steve’s sacrifice and optimistic for Nicole’s future after a successful transplant surgery.
